Rev. Boyd Longshore joined the Waldorf College soccer coaching staff in early August 2008. His soccer coaching experience spans some twenty years at the youth premier and below levels, and at the high school level.
He served in Colorado Springs, Colo., as the age group leader coordinating tryouts and team formation for more than 120 boys among seven teams, and as head coach for the U12 boy’s team which won the Colorado State Cup for non-premier youth soccer. In New Ulm, Minn., as head coach for the classic U15 and U16 age brackets, his teams competed for the Minnesota State Cup in Blaine, Minn.
Coach Longshore was the first head coach for the New Ulm High School boy’s soccer program which finished its inaugural year with a 5-5-3 record. This first-year team was the Section 2A academic winner among 20 teams.
In addition to his United States Soccer Federation D coaching license, he is a certified referee with experience in adult, college, high school and youth soccer matches.
Rev. Longshore is a pastor in Forest City and Thompson. He served 22 years on active duty in the U. S. Air Force retiring at the rank of lieutenant colonel. He and his wife, Mary, live in Forest City and have three grown sons. |
