Waldorf College Women's Golf FAQ

Q – Can I receive a golf scholarship?
A – Yes. Waldorf offers athletic scholarships to qualified women to play golf. Each scholarship amount varies based on playing ability and the number of scholarships we are able to give out.

Q – How does a player try-out or join the team?
A
– Anyone is allowed to participate in our golf tryouts which take place the week before school begins in late August. All players are required to participate in the tryout, including returning players. We conduct a 4-day, 72-hole event to determine our Varsity players.

Q – How many people are on the team?
A
- The team usually consists of 12-15 players. The top 7-8 golfers will participate with the Varsity.

Q – Do golfers pay for anything?
A
– Waldorf covers all the costs of travel, food, practice, entry fees and assists the team with shirts and bags. Each player is expected to have their own set of clubs and golf balls. We do participate in college programs with a number of golf clothing and equipment companies.

Q – Where does Waldorf practice and play?
A –
We practice and play at Bear Creek Golf Course in Forest City, IA. Bear Creek is an 18-hole facility with a new nine holes that recently opened in August of 2003. Waldorf covers all costs for practice and playing at Bear Creek. The course is located on the southeast side of town, about 2 minutes from campus.
