Weekend coaches clinic canceled

The 2010 volleyball coaches clinic scheduled for this weekend, March 12 and 13, at Waldorf College has been canceled.

After a much needed day of rest, the Waldorf College softball team thought they would be getting back to action on Thursday. Two innings into the first game of the day, however, the rain put a stop to play and eventually was enough to cancel both games on the Waldorf schedule.

The Waldorf College baseball team had a slow start as they kicked off their season with a five game weekend series in Searcy, Ark., taking on NCAA Division II, Harding University. The Warriors were defeated in all five games.

After pushing seven of the eight wrestlers through to the second day of competition, the Waldorf College wrestling team faced five consolation rounds to make it to the final day of the tournament.

Wrestling National Championships open Thursday

The 53rd Annual NAIA Wrestling National Championships will get underway Thursday at Abe Lemons Arena on the campus of Oklahoma City University. Eight Waldorf College wrestlers qualified and will compete in the three day event, starting with a preliminary round at 1 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.
