Church Relations
For 100 years, Lutheran churches have had a direct relationship in the governance of Waldorf College. In 1903, Rev. C.S. Salveson called a meeting of area churches and proposed the idea of establishing Waldorf College to provide a Christian education in the Lutheran tradition to area students. The result of this meeting was the formation of the Waldorf Lutheran College Association. Today, 211 Lutheran congregations in Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Nebraska are members of the Waldorf Lutheran College Association and participate in Waldorf’s mission. Waldorf College is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
