Lutheran Leader Program

Waldorf College has established the Lutheran Leader Program to enroll international students from developing or so-called third world nations. These students come from Lutheran or Lutheran-related ministries and have the potential for leadership in their nation’s Lutheran Church.

A maximum of three Freshmen scholarships are awarded each year. Preference is given to those students interested in majoring in one of Waldorf’s Bachelor Degree programs - Biology, Business, Communications, Computer Information Systems (CIS), Creative Writing, Elementary Education (K-6), English, Foundations of Education, History, Humanities, Music, Music Education, Psychology, Secondary Education, Theatre Arts, and Wellness. A dual degree (Physical Science/Chemical Engineering) with Iowa State University is also available. A TOEFL score of 550/213/79 is required. Any student selected for the Lutheran Leader Program will need a sponsor who will formally commit to provide $3500 per semester for room, board and fees. This sponsor must be found by the student before he or she can attend.

Students selected for the Lutheran Leader Program are expected to be involved in the campus ministry program and participate in leadership development programs. Students in the program are encouraged to complete their undergraduate education at Waldorf. If they wish to transfer to another institution, it is their sole responsibility to secure admission, scholarships and/or sponsorship to that institution.
