Lutheran Leader Program
Waldorf College has established the Lutheran Leader Program to enroll
international students from developing or so-called third world nations.
These students come from Lutheran or Lutheran-related ministries and have
the potential for leadership in their nations Lutheran Church.
A maximum of three
Freshmen scholarships are awarded each year. Preference is given to
those students interested in majoring in one of Waldorfs Bachelor
Degree programs - Biology, Business, Communications, Computer Information
Systems (CIS), Creative Writing, Elementary Education (K-6), English,
Foundations
of Education, History, Humanities, Music, Music Education, Psychology,
Secondary Education, Theatre Arts, and Wellness. A dual degree (Physical
Science/Chemical
Engineering) with Iowa State University is also available. A TOEFL
score
of 550/213/79 is required. Any student selected for the Lutheran Leader
Program will need a sponsor who will formally commit to provide $3500
per semester for room, board and fees. This sponsor must be found
by the student before he or she can attend.
Students selected for the Lutheran Leader Program are expected to be
involved in the campus ministry program and participate in leadership
development programs. Students in the program are encouraged to complete
their undergraduate education at Waldorf. If they wish to transfer to
another institution, it is their sole responsibility to secure admission,
scholarships and/or sponsorship to that institution.
