Health Promotion
Purpose of the Wellness Minor:
To allow students studying in another major to learn the basics of Wellness and to get a representative sampling of the Wellness field of study.
The following classes are REQUIRED for the Wellness Health Promotion minor:
WEL 101 Concepts of Wellness (1)
PED 170 First Aid (1)
SOC 232 Close Relationships (3); SOC/PSY 265 Health Psychology (3); or WEL 250 Substance Abuse (3)
BIO/WEL 207 Principles of Nutrition (3)
WEL 212 Stress Management (2)
WEL/PED 221 Personal & Community Health (3)
WEL 310 Health Promotion & Education (3)
Students would be required to take an additional two courses from the following classes to complete the Wellness Health Promotion minor:
WEL 230 , WEL 250 , WEL 320*, WEL 350*, WEL 360*, WEL 380*, WEL 390*, WEL 405*, WEL 410, WEL 420
* Prerequisite(s) required
(While it does not count toward the additional two courses necessary for the minor, it is important to note that BIO 155 is a prerequisite for some of the aforementioned courses.)
