New and Returning Students
Travel and Accommodations
It is required to arrive on your scheduled arrival date so that we may have everything prepared for you. If you arrive on a fly in day, please report directly to your residence hall to move in. The fall check in process will be completed the next day. If you must arrive early you may submit an early arrival request to the Office of Student Life. Please note that early arrivals are charged $25/day for this convenience. If you have been approved for an early arrival and are arriving on a non-scheduled arrival day, check-ins will take place Monday-Friday between 9am-4pm only. All students that arrive before their scheduled arrival day must be approved and confirmed 48 hours in advance through Student Life. They can be reached by email or at (641) 585-8160.
Students can arrange to be picked up from the following locations: Minneapolis Airport, Jefferson Bus Lines, (Mason City) Greyhound or Megabus (Minneapolis), by purchasing a Transportation Pass and completing a Ride Request Form.
Unfortunately no early arrivals will be allowed to check into the residence halls before July 29th as there will be no hall staffing on campus and deep cleaning of rooms will continue through early August. Please make arrangements to arrive on your specified arrival date. If you must arrive early to town, we recommend the Super 8 (641) 585-1300 or Knights Inn (641) 585-5060 for reasonably priced lodging. Housing forms and housing deposit must be complete and paid before students are assigned and can move into housing. No temporary housing will be available.
Move-In and Check-In Day
All new and returning students will complete a check-in process when they arrive to campus in the fall. Check-in will take place and begin in Salveson Lobby. Please see schedule at the top of this page for the times and date of your check-in. In addition, students residing on campus will need to move in to their assigned residence hall after checking in at the stations in Salveson Lobby. It is highly recommended that students and families arrive early between 8:30am-10am on the day of your assigned arrival day to have sufficient time to complete the check in process with offices and move into your assigned residence hall. If you arrive on a fly in day, please report directly to your residence hall to move in.
Warrior Crossings (Atrium) will be open for grab and go breakfast and lunch for all students and families on each arrival day. Meal plans will begin and be provided for students beginning the evening of their assigned arrival date. Students arriving before this date are responsible for their own meals.
