Join us for the 2014 Waldorf College Music Camp, Monday Aug. 18 - Friday, Aug. 22. Waldorf College has long enjoyed the reputation for excellence in music. Our choral and instrumental ensembles are internationally acclaimed and we look forward to another exciting season of touring and performance.
Music is a lifelong gift and we invite you to share your talents with friends and colleagues at Waldorf College through our ensembles-the Waldorf Wind Symphony, Jazz Band, Brass/Woodwind ensembles, Sangkor Women’s Ensemble, Waldorf Choir or Schola Cantorum. Music Camp is required for all students who wish to participate in an ensemble.
Plan for a highly engaged week of rehearsals mixed with a host of fun social events. Auditions and placements for the Waldorf Wind Symphony, Waldorf Choir, Schola Cantorum and Sangkor will be held on the last day of camp. The formal audition schedule for placement in choirs and bands will be posted during camp and auditions will cover the music studied that week. The combined vocal and instrumental ensembles will perform for the student body at Opening Convocation on Friday, August 22nd.

All music students (new and returning) must check in on Monday, August 18th from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the Salveson Lobby. Once they check-in, they will receive their housing contract at the check-in table. They will check-in with each office according to the Check-in sheet. Once they are checked in with each office, they will then take their housing contract that they received at the check-in table and take it down to their assigned hall and give it to their Area Coordinator or Resident Assistant who will check them into their room. This is when they also receive their room keys.
Commuter music students are also required to check in from 9:00 to 11:00 AM on Monday, August 18th.
Required Orientation activities start at 3 PM on Friday, August 22nd. Orientation (WOW) runs from 3 PM Friday, August 22nd through Sunday, August 24th. These are required activities that all first year students must attend. Transfer students are required to attend transfer student orientation on Sunday, August 28th, but a time still needs to be scheduled. I can let you know once we have a scheduled time.
Check in and registration at the Odvin Hagen Music Center for first year students begins at 12:00 PM, and 12:30 PM for returning students. Check in and registration will be on the first floor foyer of the music building.
The music camp fee of $70 includes lunch and dinner each day and is separate from your campus board plan. Meals will begin with dinner the first day, Monday August 18th. Lunch will not be served on the first day and will be on your own. Please keep in mind breakfast will not be served during Music Camp. We encourage you to bring your own breakfast foods for the week and store them in your dorm room.
For convenience, this fee will be charged directly to your student account in the business office. Any student registering for camp after the August 1st deadline will pay a late registration fee of $80.
