The Guthrie offers internships year-round. The internship timeframes are seasonal: Winter / Spring, Summer and Fall. The exact timeframes can be found on the internship description. As we receive hundreds of applications, there are separate application periods for each internship season. We are currently accepting applications for Winter / Spring 2011 internships only. Please note that the types of internships available will vary each season.
The Guthrie is currently accepting Winter / Spring 2011 internship applications for internships in the following areas Costume Shop, Development, Directing, Education, Multimedia Communications, Photography, Production Archivist, Public Relations, Scenic Production, Sound and Stage Management.
The application period for Winter / Spring 2011 internships is October 20 - November 30. It is recommended that interested applicants submit their application as soon as possible as applications will be reviewed as they are recieved and if a matching candidate is found prior to the deadline an internship may be offered in advance of the deadline.

Internships at the Guthrie are unpaid; however, interns receive other employee perks such as professional development opportunities, complimentary Guthrie tickets, invitations to meet and greets, staff meetings and more.
Internship Applicant Guidelines:
1. All applicants must be at least 18 years old and have met the education level requirements for the internship he/she is applying for. Please read the internship description carefully.
2. All applicants must be college students (undergrad or graduate) or recent graduates (within the past 3 years).
3. We do not offer internships in acting.

How to Apply
To apply for an internship, please complete the internship application and provide the following:
•three letters of recommendation from people who know your work well such as employers, professors, supervisors or mentors.
•an organized resume showing your work experience that relates to the internship, theater experience (if any) that relates to the internship, and any training/education that relates to the internship.
•a personal statement of 500 words or less that answers all of the following questions:
1.Why are you interested in an internship with the Guthrie Theater?
2.What strengths would you bring to this internship?
3.What are your career goals?
4.How would a Guthrie internship assist you in attaining your career goals?
•Please include the personal statement, resume and letters of recommendation with the completed application.
