The Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts is looking for undergraduate and post-graduate interns. Gain hands on experience in regional Performing Arts Centers summer musical program. Attend staff and production meetings and become an integral part of presenting a locally based musical. Make a huge impact in our community!
We are looking for (8) seasonal interns to work with the department heads in the following categories:
Assistant Director, Assistant Musical Director, Assistant Costume Designer/wardrobe, Dance Captain, Stage Manager, Head Carpenter, Props Master/Scenic Artist, Electrician
~ Building and loading in show into outdoor performance space, and strike at end of production.
~ Working in all aspects of technical theatre
~Teach or supervise a class of student in our summer camp program during day hours
~Attend rehearsals when needed, and tech week, plus crew show.
~Other duties as assigned
~Interest in making great theatre happen
~Must be organized, independent, and a self-starter.
~Ability to multi-task
~Will work in some aspect building the production, assist for load in, running show, and strike
~Will attend all rehearsals (afternoon and evening) help to run group rehearsals
~Will teach acting and movement classes for our summer theatre camp
~Will work with summer camp students to learn parts and music for the performance.
~Attend all staff and production meetings
~Other duties as assigned
These internships are paid a flat fee stipend, and rooms are available within walking distance of shop and Performing Arts Center. You will be expected to share with one roommate.
Persons wishing to be considered must be able to commit for the entire program.
