The State of Iowa Internship program is designed to offer college level students an opportunity to gain work experience in state government. The program is administered by the Human Resources Enterprise of the Department of Administrative Services. Applications are received and matched with specific internship opportunities in the various Executive Branch departments. The program offers many benefits: Promotes better ties with the academic community Complements college students' academic efforts Provides departments the opportunity to screen for future employees Keeps students in Iowa Enhances affirmative action efforts. Who is eligible to apply? Students currently enrolled in an accredited college, university or community college program leading to a degree may apply. Students attending school out-of-state are also welcome to apply
