Principal Global Investors will host a student immediately following the 2010 fall semester on our High Yield Fixed Income team. In this co-op you will assist the team with strategy, price change and attribution reports. You will also help with maintaining our watch list and ensuring the data integrity of our investment holdings. As your familiarity with our strategy increases, you will be given opportunities to assist with sector coverage, monthly presentations and improving our current processes.

In addition to getting exposure to the investments industry, you will also be part of the Valued Intern at The Principal (VIP) program. Over the summer you will interact with other interns throughout the company to plan social events, learn from our leaders and even participate in a few competitions. Qualifications
Applicants must be currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in finance, economics or accounting. Completion of intermediate level coursework in investments is required. This position requires strong attention to detail so a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred. Additional exposure to investment concepts through involvement in student organizations or employment is also preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally is essential in this role.

You must be available to work 40 hours per week from mid December 2010 until August 2011.
