Key Accountabilities

We offer a unique perspective into the world of food manufacturing with a maximum 12-week paid internship in our Purchasing group in Ames, IA. As a key player on the Barilla Purchasing team, the Intern-Purchasing will focus on:

Gain a high level understanding of the Durum Wheat Market and its implications on pasta manufacturing
Become familiar with current Barilla America, Inc. Durum Wheat suppliers
Review the current contracting process for Durum Wheat & data management in Microsoft Excel. Collaborate with Purchasing colleagues in Italy HQ on automating the manual elements of this reporting structure
Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Completed Junior year of college with concentration in Agricultural Economics, Milling Science, Bakery Science, Supply Chain, Economics, Finance
Strong analytical skills
Effective project management and time management skills
Solid presentation and communication skills
Prior experience in Operations a plus
Self-driven individual with ability to work independently
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and maintain attention to detail
Strong ability to work in teams and build good relationships high degree of personal integrity and work ethics
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
