Biography:

A native of Charleston, W. Va., Coach Gabriel Haynes comes to Waldorf College after a successful season as an assistant at his alma mater, the University of Charleston. As Coach Chad Duernberger’s top assistant, Haynes helped lead the Golden Eagles to a 16-4-1 overall record and a 10-1 record in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Charleston won both the WVIAC regular season and tournament crowns and advanced to the Atlantic Regional Final, with a berth in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. Charleston finished the season ranked No. 10 in the final NSCAA National Rankings. Haynes coached an All-American, five All-Regional players, and six All-Conference players during his season with UC.

Haynes, along side Coach Robert Spain who currently coaches at Waldorf, played collegiate soccer at The University of Charleston under 2009 NSCAA/Mondo National Coach of the Year Chad Duernberger. During his senior season, the Golden Eagles concluded the WVIAC with an unblemished 12-0 record, including both a WVIAC regular season championship and a WVIAC tournament championship. Charleston also won the NCAA D-II Atlantic Regional, complete with a berth in the NCAA D-II National Quarterfinals, finishing with a No. 7 national ranking in the NSCAA final rankings with a 19-4 overall record.
