Friday, September 28

7 a.m. – 9 p.m. Warrior Crossing Open (Atrium)
7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Luise V. Hanson Library and Archives Open View items from Waldorf's history on display in the Archives (Second Floor).
9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Waldorf Bookstore Open
4 p.m. – 6 p.m. Registration Pick up your tickets! (Atrium)
5:30 p.m. Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Banquet  (Ballroom, Salveson Hall) –Inductees include: Jim Dotseth ’63, Jeff “Curly” Pierce ’85, Jamie Rustad ’97 and Carrie Norman Lowry ’01. The 1962 Football Team will also be recognized. Reception begins at 5 p.m.
6 p.m. Candidate Review / Coronation (Atrium)
7:30 p.m. Theatre Performance: "Lawn Mower Wars," a play by Dr. Robert E. AuFrance, Director of Theatre/Director of Fine Arts Administration. Retiring to the small town life of Iowa should be full of peace and quiet, but in this comedy, life is anything but boring when you're living in a village that has feuding handyman brothers, a neighbor who mows his lawn in the middle of the night, an escaped convict and the singing "Sons of the Lutefisk" who might just turn up at your home to start the morning making lefse. For tickets call 641-585-8288 or email theatre@waldorf.edu. 7:30 p.m. Men's Hockey Game Warriors vs. South Dakota State University, Brookings, SD. (Home game played at Albert Lea Ice Arena)
8:45 p.m. Warrior Pep Fest / Bonfire Join the athletic teams, cheerleaders, and students as they fire up for the homecoming game on Saturday and crown the homecoming king and queen! (Fieldhouse South Parking Lot)

 

Saturday, September 29

8 a.m 5K Run/Walk Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. All are welcome to participate in the run/walk to support organ donor awareness. Categories for the run based on age. Prior registration preferred. For more information, call Mary at (641) 585-8157 or email mathiasem@waldorf.edu. (Register in front lawn of Salveson Hall).

8 a.m. – 10 a.m. Pancake Feed Enjoy some hot flap-jacks, sausage, fruit and more.  On-site free-will donation benefiting the Waldorf Lutheran College Foundation. (Outside Luise V. Hanson Library – rain location, Atrium)

10 a.m. Homecoming Parade Grand Marshall: "Lucky" Truong, member of the Waldorf College Facilities Department for 30 years. Reunion classes and special groups are encouraged to have an entry in the parade. 
10 a.m. Women's Soccer Game Warriors vs. Southwestern Christian College, Bethany, OK (Bolstorff Field)
10:30 a.m. – 10:50 a.m. Hymn Sing (Recital Hall)
11:00 a.m. Luncheon for Reunion Classes and All Returning Alumni  Classes 1942, 1947, 1952, 1957, 1967, 1972, 1977, 1982, 1987, 1992, 1997, 2002 and 2007 will celebrate their class reunion, however, others from the same decade are also encouraged to join them. All reunion lunches will be held in the Atrium with classrooms available later for conversation if preferred. Advance tickets needed.
11:00 a.m. Special 50th Class Reunion Lunch: Class of 1962  (Salveson Ballroom)
11:30 a.m. Tailgating Meal For students and guests – Sponsored by the Waldorf Warriors Booster Club.  Cost is $8/person at the gate.  (North of Bolstorff Field)
11:30 a.m. Comm. Dept. BBQ Lunch for Comm. alumni and students (East Atrium Entrance)
12 p.m. Men's Soccer Game Warriors vs. Southwestern Christian College, Bethany, OK (Bolstorff Field)
12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Waldorf Story Video Recordings Be part of a Waldorf story video by telling what Waldorf means to you and/or your favorite Waldorf memory (in 2 minutes or less). Videos will be compiled and may be posted on Waldorf's website. A copy will also be donated to the college archives for posterity. Please stop by to tell your story. We want to hear from you! (Marketing/Advancement Suite off of Salveson Lobby)
1 p.m. Memorial Service for Former Choir Director, John (JW) Williams (Recital Hall) – All are welcome to attend this special memorial service planned by choir alumni who sang under JW (’92-’98) and greet Susan Williams.
1 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Art and Craft Fair Enjoy works of art for sale by alumni, Waldorf faculty/staff, and friends. If you are interested in having a booth to display your work, please contact the alumni office at (641) 585-8140 or alumni@waldorf.edu. (Salveson Lobby)

2:30 p.m. Football Game  Cheer on the Warriors as they take on the University of St. Francis, Joliet, IL and enjoy some half-time entertainment including recognition of then newest members of the Waldorf College Athletic Hall of Fame and the 1962 Football Team! (Bolstorff Field)
2:30 p.m. Special Alumni Tour of the Mansion Museum (N. Clark Street, next to Post Office) – Experience the 1899 grandeur of Banker Charley Thompson’s home, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places and operated by the Winnebago Historical Society. Discover Mr. Thompson’s role in Forest City’s “Great Hotel War,” which led to the birth of Waldorf College in 1903! Meet at the Museum. Admission: $5.
3:15 p.m. Campus Tour Take a student guided tour of campus. (Leaves from Salveson Lobby)
4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Alumni Choir Sing-A-Long and Homecoming Music Concert (Immanuel Lutheran Church, Sanctuary) – Former choir director, Adrian Johnson, will be guest conducting a selection at the sing-a-long and a special tribute will be given in memory of former choir director, John Williams. The Waldorf Choir will perform their traditional homecoming concert. All are welcome!
6:15 p.m. Taste of Waldorf Dinner (Atrium) – Join us for dinner at this special event as we recognize 2012 Alumni Distinguished Service Award honorees, The Rev. Dr. Philip Holtan ’70 and Janice Shurson Anderson ’72, along with Recent Alumni Award for Service honoree, Andrea Goedderz ’07. President Alsop will also give an update on the college. Advance tickets needed.
