Biography:

Prior to accepting the position at Waldorf, Cindy taught special education classes at the elementary and middle school level for 12 years. Her experiences in K-12 included working with students with diverse needs in both co-teaching and small group, pull-out environments.

For the next 12 years, Cindy worked as a special education consultant for AEA 267, where she focused on curriculum-based evaluation, reading initiatives, PBIS, and Why Try in several North Iowa districts. During this time, she also taught education courses as an adjunct for Buena Vista University. Additional college-level experience includes teaching developmental writing for North Iowa Area Community College and supervising student teachers.

She enjoys working with pre-service teachers, particularly in the area of special education and maintaining her connections in the K-12 system. Cindy is the proud mother of two sons. Jonathon and Collin both plan to carry on the family tradition and become educators.
