Academic Support Program

Students studyingThe Academic Support Program (ASP) is a valuable option for all students entering college and has proven to be beneficial for those who choose to enroll. Many students earn a higher GPA in college than what was obtained in high school after fully utilizing this program. At the end of the 2009/2010 academic year, the cumulative GPA of ASP enrolled students was over 2.4. The Academic Support Program may be recommended to those who either did not perform to their academic potential in high school, did not take a full schedule of college preparatory classes, or anyone who needs to develop better college study skills. In some cases, the Academic Support Program may be a requirement for acceptance into the College.

There is a fee of $450.00 for each semester the student participates in the ASP.

Services provided in the Academic Support Program include the following:

  • Strategies of Success course (skills are taught to increase academic preparedness for college)
  • Learning style evaluation
  • Monitored study time
  • Academic progress monitoring (results sent to student, and parents with permission)
  • Academic counseling services
  • Post program academic progress monitoring for one semester (results sent to student, and parents with permission)
