Sheryl Fitzpatrick, chair of the Waldorf College business and economics department and associate professor, received the school’s most prestigious faculty honor—the Board of Trustees Outstanding Faculty Award—at the annual faculty/staff recognition dinner on Friday, April 30.


Dr. Joseph Manjone, president of Waldorf College presented Sarah Leichsenring of Clarion, Iowa, with the prestigious President's Award during commencement exercises on Saturday, May 1.

The award is given annually to a senior whose records show outstanding academic achievement, leadership, character and service—a student who reflect the highest ideals of the mission of Waldorf College. The selection process involves a vote by members of the senior class and input from faculty and staff members.


Waldorf College will hold commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 2 p.m., at the John K. and Luise V. Hanson Fieldhouse. The Honorable Merlin Bartz, Iowa State Senator (District 6), will deliver the commencement address. A baccalaureate service will precede the event at 10:30 a.m. in the Atrium.


Winning only one non-conference game so far this season, the Waldorf College softball team continued their struggles on Monday afternoon, as they dropped a pair to NCAA DIII team, Buena Vista University. The Warriors fall to 1-11 against non-conference opponents, as they lost 10-7 in game one and 4-2 in game two against the Beavers.


The Waldorf College men’s and women’s soccer program held its largest open house to date on Saturday, April 10, signing seven new athletes.


Impact Pro Wrestling will entertain inside the ring at the “Warrior Smackdown” on Friday, April 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Waldorf College Atrium. The event is open to the public. Tickets - $8 for adults and teens and $5 for children ages 4-12 – are available at the door. Concessions will be available for purchase at the Warrior Crossing café in the Atrium.


The Waldorf Wind Symphony will present its home concert entitled, “Festive Overtures,” on Sunday, April 18, 3 p.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 246 South Clark Street in Forest City. The concert is free and open to the public.
