Waldorf Wind Symphony presents home concert April 18

The Waldorf Wind Symphony will present its home concert entitled, “Festive Overtures,” on Sunday, April 18, 3 p.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 246 South Clark Street in Forest City. The concert is free and open to the public.

The performance will feature music from composers such as John Philip Sousa and Leonard Bernstein and showcase songs from the symphony’s upcoming spring tour.

Led by Dr. Brent Dodson, director of instrumental activities, the Waldorf Wind Symphony is the flagship ensemble of the instrumental music program comprised of the Waldorf College Jazz Band, the Warrior Pep Band and various chamber ensembles. · Monday, May 3, 7:30 p.m. – Faith Lutheran Church, (Prairie Village, Kan.)
· Wednesday, May 5, 7:30 p.m. – Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church of New Orleans, (New Orleans, La.)
· Saturday, May 8, 6 p.m. – St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, (Foley, Ala.)
· Sunday, May 9, 4 p.m. – Trinity United Methodist Church, (Homewood, Ala.)
· Monday, May 10, 7:30 p.m. – Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, (Manchester, Mo.)
· Tuesday, May 11, 7:30 p.m. – New Hope United Methodist Church, (Des Moines, Iowa)
