The Waldorf Community Artist Series welcomes the Eastern Iowa Brass Band to Forest City on Sunday, November 10, for a 3 p.m. concert at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The group will be in Forest City as part of the Waldorf Community Artist Series, which has brought celebrated singers, musicians, and other performers from across the nation and world to Forest City for the past 26 years.

Since forming in 1986, the Mt. Vernon-based brass band has been entertaining audiences throughout the Midwest and beyond. The group frequently participates in national competitions, finishing as high as third place at the US Open Brass Band Championships in recent years.

As Iowa’s only British-style brass band, the 35-member ensemble includes cornets, flugelhorns, tenor horns, euphoniums, baritones, trombones, tubas, and percussion. Concerts often include marches, hymn arrangements, Broadway show tunes, and familiar orchestral arrangements, as well as original works for brass band.

Tickets to the performance are $10 for adults and $5 for students and can be purchased at the Forest City Chamber of Commerce, by calling the Waldorf College Information Center at 800-292-1903, or at the door the afternoon of the event.
