Forest City, Iowa – More than 80 college students will raise their voices in song at a joint concert between Waldorf College and Iowa State University at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 1 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City, Iowa.
“It’s a great opportunity for the Waldorf Choir to perform with ISU, which has a highly prestigious choir,” said Dr. Adam Luebke, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities at Waldorf College. “This opportunity also helps Waldorf share its tradition and musical expression with the members of ISU.”
ISU Choir, a vocal ensemble of 65 voices, will collaborate with 21 members of the Waldorf Choir for a performance including music from the Renaissance and Baroque periods as well as contemporary compositions. Each group will perform separately, before coming together for a joint performance.
“This concert will give our students great exposure to another type of choral group,” Dr. Luebke said. “It’s always exciting to meet people whom you don’t know, but share a common interest with.”
The concert is free and open to the public.
