Forest City, Iowa – Waldorf College is pleased to announce the winners of the 2012-2013 Salveson Prizes in Poetry and Prose. The prizes, named after Waldorf College’s founder, honor outstanding poems and exceptional pieces of prose with a monetary award and publication in Waldorf’s literary journal, Crusader.
Forest City, Iowa – Continuing Waldorf College’s tradition of service, the Luise V. Hanson Library will be selling used books from various collections to raise money for Waldorf’s annual Kids Against Hunger food packaging event. The sale begins on February 11 and continues for three weeks until March 1.
Waldorf College has announced its dean's list for the fall 2012 semester. To receive the honor, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale and complete a minimum of 12 credits during the semester.
Waldorf College’s Distinguished Visiting Writer Series welcomes Patrick Hicks on Tuesday, February 5. Hicks will speak to creative writing classes at Waldorf College as well as reciting his own work at a public reading.
The Luise V. Hanson Library at Waldorf College has been awarded the Muslim Journeys Bookshelf from the National Endowment for the Humanities. The college library is one of only six institutions in Iowa to be granted the collection.
