Senior Recruitment Specialist

Waldorf College is seeking experienced candidates for a Senior Recruiting Specialist whose focus will be targeted recruitment with affinity groups across campus.  Specifically in the programs associated with Fine Arts, Service and Academics (i.e. Communications, Creative Writing…). 

Purpose of Position
Under the direction of the Director of Admissions, the Senior Recruitment Specialist will be responsible for the development and promotion of targeted groups through the admissions process to enhance the enrollment of academically and/or artistically qualified students applicants to Waldorf College, thus increasing diversity, quality and overall enrollment. All Counselors and Recruiters are responsible to fully participate, cooperate and be held accountable for results. 

Principal Responsibilities as a Senior Recruitment Specialist

  • Contributes to the development of team goals and strategies, while setting individual goals.
  • Makes recommendations to the Director of Admissions regarding recruitment strategy to maximize opportunities related to yield.
  • Develop strategic methods of communication with individual applicants to personalize the admissions process and set goals to determine effectiveness
  • Evaluates effectiveness and recommend/make modifications
  • Maintains a monthly report of prospects and prepares reports reflecting the recruitment efforts including vital statistical information to the Director of Admissions
  • Establish and maintain dynamic, cooperative relationships with program heads/advisors of targeted initiative groups, admissions counselors and financial aid staff.
  • Works to support marketing and communication efforts and initiatives which include but are not limited to comprehensive review of the communication flow for targeted audiences, updates for electronic, print, web/social media; and the establishment, promotion and evaluation of appropriate special events on and off campus with emphasis on yield and the development/enhancement of a counselor communication flow.
Other Recruitment Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and facilitates outreach activities that will showcase the targeted programs/departments and encourage a broad-base of interested individuals to pursue a College education.
  • Determine decision-making path for individual students and help answer their specific questions about the Waldorf College
  • Represents Waldorf College and its programs at various events, forums, conferences and receptions on-campus, regionally and across the country.
  • Nurtures relationships with guidance counselors and alumni contacts to build awareness of Waldorf College and obtain support in developing contacts with prospective students.
  • Assists with planning and execution of campus visits, campus open house/scholarship events, and campus tours, information sessions, community based and/or high school visit days.
  • Reviews application files to determine initial program admissions eligibility.  Prepares and monitors completeness and progress of application files. 
  • Assist with the admissions processing by preparing credentials for program admissions review committees, trouble-shooting application errors, monitoring systems and provide training to faculty and staff as necessary.
  • Establishes and maintains an atmosphere of excellent internal and external customer service.
Qualifications
  • Five or more years of professional experience working in higher education admissions or a competitive sales/marketing environment.
  • Senior level experience in admissions work, financial aid or related fields preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Candidates with previous experience managing and producing marketing content and/or streamlining admissions processing will be given preference
  • Prior academic advising or student services in higher education; demonstrated success in developing recruitment strategies, plans and achieving results.
  • Strong time management, presentation, facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have a proven ability to communicate with student applicants using various methods including verbal, written and electronic.  Technical fluency with current technology, including social media.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends, willing to travel and possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the College’s liability coverage.
  • Demonstrated ability or experience in the administration of student recruitment
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating campus resources for organizing and implementing a recruitment and transition plan
  • Evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of college students
