Library Director

Waldorf College seeks candidates for the position of Library Director for a full time 12 month appointment. The director is responsible for the library’s strategic plan, budget management, personnel administration, collection development, and information literacy instruction. The director will continue to support the educational goals of residential and online programs by collaborating with students, faculty, library staff and administration. The position start date is negotiatable, with an early summer start preferred.
 
This is an academic appointee position with faculty status that reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs. Expectations include professional involvement in the college, community achievement, service at state, regional and national library levels, and scholarly activities.  Applications will be reviewed until position is filled.

Qualifications

  1. Master of Library Science from an ALA accredited school required. A doctorate or additional degrees would be preferred.
  2. Experience in a residential college library setting required with experience directing a college library preferred.
  3. Experience providing online library services preferred.
  4. Demonstrated effectiveness in organization, personnel management, and team leadership.
  5. Background in the use of library technologies required.
  6. Experience in financial planning preferred.
  7. Appreciation of the scholarly mission of the faculty.
  8. Record of professional involvement and activities.
