Waldorf College is proud to award eight scholarships for online students and two scholarships for residential students in 2012 through the Hero Behind the Hero Scholarship Program. Waldorf recognizes the sacrifices made by the family members of America’s military men and women, and public safety personnel (firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMTs & dispatchers).

In appreciation of their support, five scholarships (four online scholarships and one residential scholarship) will be awarded to the spouse and child of an active military man or woman and five scholarships (four online scholarships and one residential scholarship) will be awarded to the spouse or child of active public safety personnel.

Eligibility

Applicants must demonstrate the value earning a degree would add to their lives by answering the following question in 250 to 300 words:

“Explain how the opportunity to continue your education through the Hero Behind the Hero Scholarship Program would change your life.”

Eligibility for Online Students

  • Eligible candidates must have a high school transcript or equivalent GED).

Eligibility for Residential Students

The individuals who are selected must maintain a 3.0 overall GPA, remain in good standing and remain enrolled in a Waldorf degree program to maintain eligibility for the scholarship. Current Waldorf students must have a 3.0 overall GPA to be considered.


When

Two scholarships (one for the military spouse or dependent and one for the firefighters/law enforcement officer spouse or dependent) will be presented on the award dates listed.

Applicants not selected may continue to apply for a maximum of five scholarship award dates.

The scholarship for online students covers tuition for up to 24 months or 60 semester hours, whichever comes first. The scholarship for residential students covers 48 months or 128 semester hours, whichever comes first. Textbooks are not included in either online or residential scholarships. The scholarship program is not based on financial need.

Please submit all scholarship application materials by the end of the application period for the scholarship award date you wish to be considered for including:

  • Completed application
  • Essay question response
  • High school transcript (or GED)
