Hunger Banquet and MLK Day Food Packaging Event
January 17 & 21, 2008
RESULTS: About 400 volunteers packaged 62,557 meals and $9,238.40 was raised to pay for those meals. In all, nearly 200 Waldorf students and 60 Waldorf employees volunteered for this event!
STUDENT QUOTE: “The Hunger Banquet on the 17th and the MLK Day Food Packaging event for Kids Against Hunger are two events that were life-changing to me. Overall, the Hunger Banquet humbled me and honestly, made me feel guilty about how fortunate I am. It also brought even more realization to me that I need to do more to help those in need. It was amazing that such a small college can make such a huge difference in the lives of people in Tanzania. It feels so great to have been a part of this again!”
